SHEPHERDS HUT UNAVAILABLE until further notice due to damage.The experience of staying in a Shepherds Hut (example shown below) on the beautiful Dorset Downs is one of the key features of this special venue. Further details about the Shepherds Hut are given at the bottom of the page.The venue is a very pleasant and friendly working farm, mainly sheep, on the Dorset Downs, which is an Area of Natural Beauty (ANOB) in South Dorset. The farm is located on hillside slopes, and has its own Bronze Age Camp with beautiful long distance views. Spring Fed Lakes on the Farm provide excellent Trout fishing at extra cost. The camping areas are around the series of Lakes.NB: This Shepherds Hut can also be booked with a Bell Tent (or the Bell Tent can be booked on its own instead of the Shepherds Hut). The booking of either one can include 2 x 2 man tents for up to 4 children. (e.g. a family per unit) Further tents may be booked via DS003 on the GGAC website. Shepherds Hut:The photograph to the right is an example of a typical Shepherds Hut. The second and third photographs above are of the actual Shepherds Hut at this venue.The Shepherds Hut (SH) is ideal for a couple. It is quite basic and has a small double bunk, chairs, small table, shelves with plates etc. Two small chairs inside and two steamer chairs outside. A simple BBQ is provided with basic cooking and eating equipment.No power, but a lantern and a good torch are available.
